Down South

So yeah I went home to Singapore for the CNY. Did a few things back there. Hanged out with mah buddy Simon, he came over to join us for the dinner on the eve, and then off to church the next day for service. Well not much going on down there. So first day was just hang out at home and all that, then went over to my cousin’s place, well my dad’s cousin to be exact over in commonwealth stop. Nice apartment. Well have too many relatives to visit and my dad isn’t into visiting them all that much though.

Main highlight of my time back home was Wednesday, I got to meet up with Mei Shin who was flying off to NZ to start uni over there. Was great to meet up with her as it was a rare chance to meet up with a friend from East Malaysia though. So we hanged out a Changi airport for a while till it was time for her to head to departure gate. Didn’t know she was that tall, well guess what she said was true then, pretty & tall, probably guys are afraid due to her height or what.

The next day was hang out with my SG Roche colleagues. They wanted to treat me for all the help that I’ve been supporting them via online when they had questions. Well got to meet their manager there in the Roche office. Quite a nice place over there, really like the environment. Though smaller than our Malaysian diagnostic building they do have quite the facility over there alright to manage so many customers with a smaller crew for the entire island nation. Well we had quite some discussions, and turns out that not the entire gang could make it, next time maybe as it goes. We went to Vivo and had German pork sausages and yes PORK KNUCKLE. It was HUGE. Ate till I practically dropped alright and the sauerkrat, that hit me good up the nose alright for sure though i can guarantee that one.

Friday wasn’t much. Had a phone call from the office regarding a site which had some problems and needed following up. Since I was in Singapore I was out of the picture and couldn’t help with the support. After that in the evening we went to inspect the new place that my pa and ma will be moving too, 29th story, nice and high up though I can now hear the train down below though, not as loud, least you can see some of the ocean from there alright. Least it’s nice to have a place of their own for once now in Singapore since their there to stay for a long long time as  it goes.

Saturday back to KL again, so it was a Saturday to Saturday affair for me in Singapore. Was a great time and I have to go back down again first week of March for the actual house shift though. This time I’ll be driving down instead of taking the buus though.

Kick start to a great CNY

I was in the office and thought, I need to get the car service. So I booked in half day PM for the slot then I called up the center as my colleagued said when, if you take the leave then it’s when you booked the service. As it was going to be on a Friday, the only slot they had was 8am in the morning. Changed the leave to a full day and just in time the HR e-mailed that in lieu of CNY being on Sunday, there would be no half day for the Chinese people in the company. Alright so we have the plans laid out.

So it begin as any other morning on that Friday, I got my gear hopped it and drove to the service center in Damansara. Now as I was about to reach the flyover at 1 Utama, in the distance a police cruiser was speeding away. Normally you would see any police vehicles going around the same speed as you or cruising leisurely on the right lane of any other lane for normal patrols. This time it was zooming ahead as if there was an emergency.

Then I get a phone call. Previous day I updated a site with a new generation of a test and didn’t remove it. Was suppose to be show and tell and my part I forgot to follow it up properly. So as I was turning into the center I was constantly on the phone with my colleagues confirming that I needed to do to help them solve the issue which was later managed to be solved by the user on their own part and also another colleague who was more senior than me followed up. I parked my mpv, got down and still was on the phone, a police siren could be heard in the distance and that was very strange. Before anyone knew it, hard braking screech and a crash took place just outside the center.

A mercedes benz just crashed into a lorry and the occupants in shirt and track suit alighted, looked around in fear and ran round the service center. A patrol cruiser pulled up. A cop with a MP5 got down and gave chase while the other person inspected the vehicle, the first guy ran round a bit and got back into the car and it reversed and headed round the block.

Car jacking first thing in the morning and police with sub-machine guns. One suspect was captured, the other not sure what happened as I had forgotten my wallet and needed to go back to get it, so as I was driving away, 4 officers were talking to a person in a blue shirt while they were standing over one of the suspects.

That was probably the owner who’s car got jacked. Due to the efficiency of the police, by the time I got back to the service center the 2 vehicles were gone and so were the police. Now that’s a quick clean up alright.

Misplaced kick

A facebook group which a friend joined recently was title, Girls Get Period Pains, Why Don’t Boys Get a Kick in the Balls Once a Month. So this really sparked me to think about it and the consequences of such. Now the pains that come with it for girls is yes quite unbearable at times when it is heavy, hence it hurts a ton. Well if we were to go down to the root of the pain, we have actually tissue and blood vessels which are being purged from the body. Basically it’s renewable once a month. This is to ensure that the conditions for pregnancy are optimum and ideal when the foetus starts to develop. I think God made it so that the kid would grow up to be a healthy fellow. Anyway since it’s basically regeneration that takes place, once the new lining is in place the pain goes and subsides. Thus the cycle goes on and on with the discarding of the old tissue and replacement of the new ones. Child bearing isn’t easy, even in a biological state, there needs to be an optimum condition for the new born to grow and develop. Now if such was not present we’d have a lot of physically and mentally and probably death in most cases if the new child is born. Fresh tissue and blood is to ensure the optimum amount of blood and oxygen is circulated to the foetus during development. They are born and grow up healthy hence a delicate environment for that to happen is required. Nature has it’s ways. Yes the pain is due to the nerve endings there which are hidden further in so not affected as the outer lining is the only part that goes during the cycle.

Now kicking the guys in the balls once a month. Is a different thing. Unlike females, the parts for males are basically permanent. Damage it and we see effects for life. So kicking once a month is likely to cause nerve damage and probably failure of parts. Production, vessels bursting, internal bleeding, we’re talking practically damage that cannot be reversed as it wasn’t meant to regenerate like what females have. So if you want to even out the pain between the genders, fine, just that we’d have less people in the world at the rate the kicking is going. Humanity is in peril though since if the pain is to be shared equally then we’ll probably have a very empty planet in a few generations time. Ok low down on the pain. The pain the guys feel is actually very different. For the girls, the pain basically makes it hard to do things, but u can still walk around, talk and do some light work that isn’t going to tax  you out. For the guys on the other hand, it’s called a paralysing pain, practically immobilised on the floor, you can’t make him get up, you can’t get him to respond, you can only drag him round or carry him around, that’s all you can do, hence which is worse one that makes the person a deadweight or one that makes the person just to be monitored only and nothing much. Well kick the balls right and we have a funeral at the end of the day.

So before you try joining some dumb group on facebook to show your support for a particular idea, remember to find out more behind the actions and the affected topics. You could just be telling everybody we should screw ourselves over for all you know.

Something small to surf the net

Author: Jonazan  //  Category: Everything

Well I’ve always wanted to get something light and easy to carry around to surf the net when there is a wifi spot available. For example like ur favourite mamak has wifi, well practically a lot of these places in the city have wifi nowadays. No idea how that popular and so on.

So whether it may be at the airport or a starbucks or somewhere with just a wifi hotspot you can just download your e-mail, check the latest updates like the weather, check your news or even yes the stock market if you do like to follow the trends or if you have some money invested in there. Now a laptop would be handy as it comes with all the required processing power and applications that you can use while viewing what you need online. The only issue is that the battery life isn’t that great unless u get Acer’s new one which so call “boasts” of 8 hours when we all know that windows sucks the life out of any living pc on the market. Hence a phone with the similar capabilities and longer batt life would be the best choice.

Now the only issue is that a phone has a small screen. Not that we all like small screens where we can hardly see a thing. So we have a few models of which I narrowed down the few that I went out to seek. Blackberry was out of the question for me as after watching the videos I wasn’t at all impressed by what they had to offer in the youtube videos hence i had to seek alternatives. Two brands came to mind, of which one was HTC and the other Apple. The iphone is a good choice for a lot of people, nice and easy to use, not much of a fuss on it since OSX does make it easier for people to load the applications they want and so on. Not to mention the games and over all the function is good for a lot of people to the new age of PDA smart phones.

Well the short fall was the lack of bluetooth at that time compared to now and also a lot of people wanted to have the secondary camera for video calls. I know that well cause a lot of hearing disability people were looking at the phone also. I had to entertain around 4 or more potential customers who were all signers. Now without the video function they weren’t too happy but the Assisted-GPS did prove to be much better since it would have been easier to get them to meet up with one another at a set point. Battery life, dies in a day due to heavy usage, had complains from one business man about how he had to re-charge it 3 times a day. It’s to be expected when you have a high performance phone that is on the way to being a pc or trying to replace it.

Now moving on the other was the HTC HD 2 that supports winmo 6.5. I was highly interested in the winmo system as it replicates windows and that would mean more general extensions for the phone and web pages. The interface is much more complicated to use compared to the iphone’s apps on the spot loading with the pages. It has the same touch technology, so no using a stylus or a pen to move about in it. Need to warm up my fingers more as a finger nail doesn’t work either. So I do like the screen as it’s wider, a 4.3 inch screen with lots of room to go round and see. Well facebook loads nicely just that not all of the scripts work that well for the apps I run on the normal lappy though. It’s got wifi, harder to install applications like games so I dont’ mind that, not a fan of games on the phone, the music player has windows media player so I can sync and yes not forgetting outlook also for my contacts. It’s a bit crazy but it acts as a wifi router also for other systems.

Pitfall is yet again the battery life, runs out fast and the bluetooth is a bit tedius, u need to like pair it with the other device first before you can receive anything from the other person and so on.

Bottomline. I’m a proud owner a HTC HD 2 and loving it.
